Assistance League

River Bend Education Center has partnered with the Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul this school year.  The Assistance League is a nonprofit, volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults through their community programs.

The Assistance League has engaged with River Bend with their Food for Kids program where each student is given food staples to bring home each week.  In addition, River Bend was awarded a grant through their Grants for Teachers program, and we were able to utilize funds to build our new sensory room, The Cove.  The Cove is a place students can go to access calming activities, such as sand trays, art activities, yoga, breathing balls, rain stick, and tents/tunnels.
